Naya Kanga Peak (5,520m), also known as Ganja La Chuli, is one of the most accessible and rewarding trekking peaks in the Langtang region, offering climbers a spectacular high-altitude adventure combined with the beautiful Langtang Valley Trek. Located in the Langtang Himal range, this peak towers above the Langtang Valley and provides breathtaking panoramic views of some of the world's highest mountains including Langtang Lirung (7,234m), Langtang II (6,581m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), Ganesh Himal (7,422m), and Shishapangma (8,027m) in Tibet.

Best Seasons to Travel
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best seasons for the Naya Kanga Peak Climbing, offering stable weather, clear mountain views, safe trail conditions, and comfortable climbing temperatures. Spring offers blooming rhododendron forests, while autumn provides crisp, clear views with excellent visibility for summit attempts.
Notes to Travelers
This expedition is moderately challenging and recommended for trekkers with good fitness levels and prior high-altitude experience. The climb reaches altitudes over 5,500 meters and requires proper acclimatization and basic mountaineering skills.
The Naya Kanga Peak requires a special climbing permit issued by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). Himalayan Karma Treks arranges all necessary permits for your expedition.
Accommodation ranges from comfortable hotels in Kathmandu to basic teahouses during the trekking sections and tented camps during the climbing phase. At higher altitudes, facilities are very basic with limited amenities.
The climb involves snow slopes, glacier sections, and a scenic summit ridge. Prior experience with crampons, ice axe, and rope techniques is recommended. The climb is graded PD (Moderate) and is suitable for climbers with basic mountaineering skills.
Transportation includes a drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (6-7 hours) and a return drive. Road conditions can be rough and delays due to weather or road conditions are possible.
Permits required include the Naya Kanga Peak Climbing Permit, Langtang National Park entry permit, and TIMS card. These are arranged by Himalayan Karma Treks.
Health considerations include altitude sickness prevention, proper acclimatization, and travel insurance covering emergency evacuation up to 5,600m. Consult your physician before embarking on this expedition.
